Gravity dams were the first type of dam constructed, and were made from stone bricks.
It was built by the Egyptians around 2950 to 2750 BC. The dam called Saddel-Kafara
and meaning “Dam of the Pagans”. A covering of limestone was applied to the dam
to protect it from erosion. Due to shoddy and hasty workmanship, the dam failed
to be watertight eventually resulting in its erosion after only a few years.Free

The Air car
The Air car is a car currently being developed and, eventually, manufactured by
Moteur Developpement International (MDI), founded by the French inventor Guy Nègre.
It will be sold by this company too, as well as by ZevCat, a US company, based in
California. The air car is powered by an air engine, specifically tailored for the
car. The used air engine is being manufactured by CQFD Air solution, a company closely
linked to MDI. The engine is powered by compressed air, stored in a glass or carbon-fibre
tank at 4500 psi. The engine has injection similar to normal engines, but uses special
crankshafts and pistons, which remain at top dead center for about 70% of the engine's
cycle; this allows more power to be developed in the engine. Though some consider
the car to be pollution-free, it must be taken into account that the tanks are recharged
using electric (or gasoline) compressors, resulting in some pollution, if the electricity
used to operate the compressors comes from polluting power plants (such as gas-,
or coal-power plants). Solar power could possibly be used to power the compressors
at fuel station.

APPLICATION OF NITROUS OXIDE IN AUTOMOBILES
In modern automobiles, nitrous oxide (often just "nitrous" or "nitro" in this context)
is sometimes injected into the intake manifold (or just prior to the intake manifold)
to increase power: even though the gas itself is not flammable, it delivers more
oxygen than atmospheric air by breaking down at elevated temperatures, thus allowing
the engine to burn more fuel and air. Additionally, since nitrous oxide is stored
as a liquid, the evaporation of liquid nitrous oxide in the intake manifold causes
a large drop in intake charge temperature. This results in a smaller, denser charge,
and can reduce detonation, as well as increase power available to the engine.

BIOMECHATRONIC HAND
An “ideal” artificial hand should match the requirements of prosthetics and humanoid
robotics. It can be wearable by the user which means that it can be perceived as
part of the natural body and should replicate sensory-motor capabilities of the
natural hand. However ,such an ideal bionic prosthesis is still far from reality.
This paper describes the design and fabrication of a novel artificial hand based
on a “biomechatronic” and cybernetic approach. The approach is aimed at providing
“natural” sensory-motor co-ordination, biomimetic mechanisms, force and position
sensors, actuators and control, and by interfacing the hand with the peripheral
nervous system.

Automatic transmission
An automatic transmission is a device, which changes gear ratios automatically,
according to the increase or decrease in speed and load of the engine. This ensures
that the engine is running at its efficient speed to deliver maximum efficiency.
There are two main types of automatic transmissions, the planetary gear type and
the continuously variable type. This report gives a description about the working
and the components present.

Bubble Power
For more than half a century, thermonuclear fusion has held out the promise of cheap,
clean, and virtually limitless energy. Unleashed through a fusion reactor of some
sort, the energy from 1 gram of deuterium, an isotope of hydrogen, would be equivalent
to that produced by burning 7000 liters of gasoline. The idea sonofusion (technically
known as acoustic inertial confinement fusion) was derived from related phenomenon
sonoluminescence. In sonofusion a piezoelectric crystal attached to liquid filled
Pyrex flask send pressure waves through the fluid, exciting the motion of tiny gas
bubbles. The bubbles periodically grow and collapse, producing visible flashes of
light. The researchers studying these light emitting bubbles speculated that their
interiors might reach such high temperature and pressure they could trigger fusion
reaction. Tiny bubbles imploded by sound waves can make hydrogen nuclei fuse- and
may one day become a revolutionary new energy source.

Cryogenics Grinding
The term “Cryogenics” originates from Greek word which means creation or production
by means of cold. As prices for energy and raw materials rise and concern for the
environment makes safe waste disposal difficult and Costly, resource recovery becomes
a vital matter for today’s business. Cryogenic grinding technology can efficiently
grind most tough materials and can also facilitate Cryogenic recycling of tough
composite materials and multi component scrap. The heart of this technology is the
CRYO-GRIND SYSTEM. It employs a cryogenic process to embrittle and grind materials
to achieve consistent particle size for a wide range of products. The cryogenic
process also has a unique capability for recycling difficult to separate composite
materials.

Ejection Seat For Safely Landing
Almost since the first days of flight man has been concerned with the safe escape
from an aircraft which was no longer flyable. Early escape equipment consisted of
a recovery parachute only. As aircraft performance rapidly increased during World
War II, it became necessary to assist the crewmen in gaining clear safe separation
from the aircraft. This was accomplished with an ejector seat which was powered
by a propellant driven catapult - the first use of a propulsive element in aircrew
escape. . Since then, this collection of componentry has evolved through several
generations into today's relatively complex systems which are highly dependent upon
propulsive elements. Ejection seats are one of the most complex pieces of equipment
on any aircraft, and some consist of thousands of parts. The purpose of the ejection
seat is simple: To lift the pilot straight out of the aircraft to a safe distance,
then deploy a parachute to allow the pilot to land safely on the ground.

Automatic Escalator Controller Mechanical Engineering Seminar
This project is developed to control an escalator automatically. The main modules in this project are Human sensor, Microcontroller unit, Driver unit and Escalator motor. When any one steps on the escalator, it senses that someone wants to go up or down. It automatically sends signal to the microcontroller. It automatically on the motor of the escalator. When the escalator starts, if another steps on the escalator, the microcontroller calculates the time the previous one come in and accordingly it stops the escalator when the first one reaches the particular place. The Microcontroller programs are written in assembly language. This will be very useful in industries, institutions etc. In future this can be implemented with artificial intelligence.
